Since 2013, author Eileen McGough has given many public lectures & talks throughout Ireland & in New York on Diarmuid Lynch & related topics.
Eileen, originally from Killarney, was a primary school teacher from 1964 to 2000. She is active in the local community of Tracton, near Kinsale, where Diarmuid Lynch was born and raised and has published two local history books in addition to her work on Diarmuid Lynch. She researched the life of Lynch through his own extensive writings, as well as many other primary sources including archive visits to New York and London amongst other locations.

Eileen was guest speaker in the American-Irish Historical Society, 991 5th Avenue, New York, February 28, 2018 giving a talk on Diarmuid Lynch. The Story of Diarmuid Lynch: A Forgotten Irish Patriot, a public lecture organised by Muskerry Local History Society, Eileen McGough brings that story to life, dealing with his involvement in the 1916 Rising and subsequent events. The lecture will be held on Tuesday, 3 December, in Ballincollig Rugby Club at 8.00 pm.
